Our Story

FOWT genesis

In 2012, a visionary collaboration between the Pôle Mer Méditerranee and the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie Marseille Provence sparked the birth of an innovative venture: the "Rencontres de l’Eolien Offshore Flottant". This pioneering initiative began as a series of four events, each one a beacon of progress in the realm of renewable energy.

By 2016, our ambition and scope expanded significantly, leading to the establishment of FOWT as a distinctive brand. France Renouvelables (ex France énergie éolienne) joined us in this exciting journey, becoming a partner in organizing these groundbreaking events. The year 2019 marked a pivotal moment in our story, characterized by a significant expansion into the international arena.

Since 2012, the event has grown from 50 attendees to 1,400 last year in Marseille, marking a record year for attendance with more than 30 nationalities.
Additionally, this event has always adhered to a 'no pay-to-speak' policy, ensuring total objectivity and equity among all participants.

Today, FOWT brings together experts, innovators, and decision-makers from across the globe, uniting their efforts to accelerate the adoption of this transformative technology.
